Proposed by TT Communications Ltd
Employees from St Albans, Hertfordshire-based marketing agency OnBrand recently joined the management and retail team of The Brewery, a retail and leisure complex for an overnight charity party to to raise funds for homeless people at Christmas.
The funds raised will be donated to two charities – Ahava Community and Charity Zarach which provide beds and basic items to children in poverty.
The charity night has so far raised over £ 8,000 and aims to beat a goal of £ 10,000 by the time all donations have arrived.
Daniel Graham, Director of OnBrand, said: ‘Almost half (44%) of all rough sleepers in the UK on a single autumn night are in London and the South East and in St Albans alone, between April 2020 and March 2021. Last year 116 families or individuals were identified as homeless by the council, according to statistics from the Department of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
“The OnBrand team have been working with The Brewery in Romford for over three years and were keen to get involved in and manage their last Christmas charity event this year as many of our previously planned events were unable to take place. due to Covid-19.
“This is the second time that OnBrand and The Brewery have hosted a large-scale sleepover – last year 20 people attended and this year 31 people slept, including three people from OnBrand supporting the cause.”
On the night of the sleepover, the keynote speakers shared their personal experiences of homelessness and how they rebuilt their lives.
