Marketing agency seeks to help young people gain hands-on experience in communications industry – Malawi 24

One of Africa’s most renowned marketing agencies, Dovetales Marketing Agency, has expressed interest in helping to improve the country’s communications industry as it intends to nurture young communications professionals next month and to offer them internship opportunities.

This is according to Dalitso Khonyongwa, Management Consultant of Dovetales Marketing Agency, who said the training which is part of Corporate Social Responsibility for BCW Africa, will start in March this year.

Khonyongwa said the marketing agency wants to improve the country’s communications industry by providing practical knowledge and skills to the country’s future communications professionals.

The management consultant further indicated that shortly after the training, some of the successful participants will be offered the opportunity to do internships at the agency.

“The program aims to impart life skills to young people. This is part of our corporate social responsibility and we believe that if young people are empowered, they will contribute greatly to the growth of the industry.

“After the program is successfully completed, we will hire interns to give them the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice. Interested persons can send their e-mails to [email protected] to participate in the program. explained Khonyongwa.

According to Khonyongwa, this is a fourth cohort of training programs dubbed the “Starting Blocks Learnership Programme” which was launched in 2020 and involves participants from 17 African countries.

The program is conducted virtually and covers areas such as; reputation management, development of communication strategies, employee engagement, event management, relationships and issues with traditional and digital media and crisis relationships, among others.
