Hong Kong’s Animoca Brands set to acquire Australian digital marketing agency Be Media

Animoca brandsthe Hong Kong-based company that advances digital property rights for games and the metaverse, announced on Tuesday that it will acquire the Australian digital marketing agency Be media to focus on key opportunities in Australia centered around blockchain development.

Following the acquisition, in its new capacity as Animoca Brands, Be Media will lead partnerships with major Australian brands as its parent company pursues goals of advancing the emergence of the open metaverse and providing digital property rights. to online users via blockchain and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Animoca Brands said in a statement.

In line with its expanded reach after the acquisition, he said Be Media has begun an aggressive hiring process in the areas of blockchain development and project management to support the expanding pipeline of opportunities that the company will manage.

According to the statement, Australian entrepreneur Jordan Fogarty, founder and chief executive of Be Media, will retain a significant minority stake and continue in his role as chief executive of the acquired entity, responsible for all business operations.

Fogarty, an early investor and supporter of Animoca Brands, previously served on the board of OliveX Holdings Limited, the fitness metaverse company started and created by Animoca Brands.
